McDonald’s and We Are Unlimited Win Best Use of Live Video in The Drum’s Social Buzz Awards

We Are Unlimited’s daring Szechuan Sauce campaign by McDonald’s for Rick and Morty recently took home the title of Best Use of Live Video at The Drum’s Social Buzz Awards this year. The publication celebrated their winners at London’s Marriott Grosvenor Square on November 29th.

The campaign was a multi-channel social initiative to bring back the cult-favorite McDonald’s Szechuan McNugget Sauce to three super-fans in response to a very public brand shoutout on the popular cartoon Rick and Morty. It utilized Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, and a live Periscope event to drive the most engagement the brand has ever seen on social media.
