Happy Birthday America: The Evolving American Dream
Americans anticipate the 4th of July, Independence Day holiday for many reasons –the start of summer and backyard barbecues, patriotic parades down Main Street and of course, the magnificent fireworks displays. While these are traditions for many of us, there is another tradition that involves those who become the newest of Americans. The 4th of July is a popular day for naturalization ceremonies – where the “Oath of Allegiance” to the United States is taken as the final step in obtaining citizenship. In honor of this American tradition and in deference to why so many immigrants come to the United States, we thought it would be an appropriate time to share information about achieving the American Dream with data from the 2014 DDB Life Style Study.
